Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for inactivating enveloped viruses by treatment with non-ionic surfactants, namely secondary fatty alcohol ethoxylates.

A method for inactivating enveloped viruses in a sample by
- a) providing the sample,
- b) adding to the sample one or more compounds of Formula I at a final concentration above their CMC;
- and
- c) incubating the mixture;
- with x=7 to 15
- and n+m=8 to 12.
