Uplink transmission in full-duplex systems

A terminal in a communication system, the terminal comprising:

• a transceiver configured to:
• receive, from a base station, subband full duplex (SBFD) configuration indicating whether a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition is allowed within SBFD resources only, or within non-SBFD resources only, or across the SBFD resources and the non-SBFD resources, and
• receive, from the base station, configuration on the PUSCH repetition, the configuration on the PUSCH repetition including a number of repetitions;
• and
• a processor operably coupled to the transceiver, the processor configured to identify available resources for the PUSCH repetition based on the SBFD configuration and the configuration on the PUSCH repetition,
• wherein the transceiver is further configured to transmit, to the base station, PUSCHs repeatedly based on the available resources.

A base station (BS) comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a transceiver operably coupled to the processor, the transceiver configured to:
• transmit, to a terminal, subband full duplex (SBFD) configuration indicating whether a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition is allowed within SBFD resources only, or within non-SBFD resources only, or across the SBFD resources and the non-SBFD resources, and
• transmit, to the terminal, configuration on the PUSCH repetition, the configuration on the PUSCH repetition including a number of repetitions, wherein available resources for the PUSCH repetition are identified based on the SBFD configuration and the configuration on the PUSCH repetition, and
• receive, from the terminal, PUSCHs based on the available resources.
