Abstract
A shared file system is maintained that is writable by a first storage system. A read-only view of the shared file system is provided to a second storage system. Within the read-only view, a directory associated with the second storage system is exposed that is writable by the second storage system while the shared file system remains read-only to the second storage system. The directory may be readable by other storage systems accessing the shared file system while write access to the directory is isolated to the associated storage system.
Claims20
A system comprising:
- a plurality of storage systems;
- and
- one or more storage system controllers, operatively coupled to the plurality of storage systems, configured to:
- maintain a shared file system that is writable by a first storage system of the plurality of storage systems;
- provide, to a second storage system of the plurality of storage systems, a read-only view of the shared file system;
- and
- expose, within the read-only view, a directory associated with the second storage system that is writable by the second storage system while the shared file system remains read-only to the second storage system.
A method comprising:
- maintaining, by one or more storage system controllers of a plurality of storage systems, a shared file system that is writable by the first storage system;
- providing, to a second storage system of the plurality of storage systems, a read-only view of the shared file system;
- and
- exposing, within the read-only view, a directory associated with the second storage system that is writable by the second storage system while the shared file system remains read-only to the second storage system.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a processing device of a one or more storage system controllers to:
- maintain a shared file system that is writable by a first storage system of a plurality of storage systems;
- provide, to a second storage system of the plurality of storage systems, a read-only view of the shared file system;
- and
- expose, within the read-only view, a directory associated with the second storage system that is writable by the second storage system while the shared file system remains read-only to the second storage system.
