Cloud Queue Synchronization

A cloud computing system of a cloud service, the cloud computing system comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising program instructions that are executable by the at least one processor such that the cloud computing system is configured to:
• cause, via a network interface, a first network device to display a first control interface comprising graphical representations of available media items for playback from the cloud service, wherein the available media items correspond to respective uniform resource identifiers (URIs) representing respective network sources of the available media items at a streaming audio service, and wherein the first control interface is authenticated with the cloud service via a first user account of the cloud service;
• receive, via the network interface from the first network device, a selection of particular audio tracks from among the available media items;
• add the particular audio tracks to a cloud queue associated with the first user account;
• cause, via the network interface, the first network device to display a local representation of the cloud queue on the first control interface;
• as playback of the cloud queue proceeds via the first network device, track a current play position of the cloud queue via a playhead pointer;
• and
• when the cloud service is accessed via a second control interface on a second network device, send, via the network interface, an indication of the playhead pointer to the second network device, wherein the playhead pointer indicates the current play position of the cloud queue via a local representation of the cloud queue on the second control interface, and wherein the second control interface is authenticated with the cloud service via the first user account of the cloud service.

A method to be performed by a cloud computing system of a cloud service, the method comprising:

• causing, via a network interface, a first network device to display a first control interface comprising graphical representations of available media items for playback from the cloud service, wherein the available media items correspond to respective uniform resource identifiers (URIs) representing respective network sources of the available media items at a streaming audio service, and wherein the first control interface is authenticated with the cloud service via a first user account of the cloud service;
• receiving, via the network interface from the first network device, a selection of particular audio tracks from among the available media items;
• adding the particular audio tracks to a cloud queue associated with the first user account;
• causing, via the network interface, the first network device to display a local representation of the cloud queue on the first control interface;
• as playback of the cloud queue proceeds via the first network device, tracking a current play position of the cloud queue via a playhead pointer;
• and
• when the cloud service is accessed via a second control interface on a second network device, sending, via the network interface, an indication of the playhead pointer to the second network device, wherein the playhead pointer indicates the current play position of the cloud queue via a local representation of the cloud queue on the second control interface, and wherein the second control interface is authenticated with the cloud service via the first user account of the cloud service.
