Abstract
A hub is for a rotor of a wind turbine. The hub includes a hub body having a first flange, and at least one second flange configured for supporting a rotor blade, the at least one second flange defining a second flange area of the hub body. The hub further includes a stiffening element extending within at least a portion of the second flange area. A thickness of the stiffening element in a direction perpendicular to the extension is constant at least over a defined extent.

A hub for a rotor of a wind turbine, the hub comprising:
- a hub body including a first flange and at least one second flange;
- a first flange configured to attach said hub body to a rotor shaft of the wind turbine;
- at least one second flange configured for supporting a rotor blade, the at least one second flange defining a second flange area of said hub body;
- a stiffening element extending within at least a portion of said second flange area, said stiffening element adjoining said hub body at least at two joints;
- and,
- wherein a thickness of said stiffening element is constant at least over a defined extent.
