Abstract
An assembly is provided for a turbine engine with a flowpath. This assembly includes a fuel source and an engine component. The engine component forms a peripheral boundary of the flowpath. The engine component includes a component internal passage. The engine component is configured to receive fuel from the fuel source. The engine component is configured to crack at least some of the fuel within the component internal passage thereby cooling the engine component and providing at least partially cracked fuel. The assembly is configured to direct the at least partially cracked fuel into the flowpath for combustion.
Claims20
An assembly for a turbine engine with a flowpath, comprising:
- a compressor section;
- a combustor section;
- a turbine section;
- a core flowpath extending longitudinally through the compressor section, the combustor section and the turbine section from an inlet into the core flowpath to an exhaust from the core flowpath;
- and
- a fuel system including a fuel source, a fuel circuit, a first component and a second component, the fuel circuit configured to deliver fuel received from the fuel source to the first component and the second component, the first component configured to inject a first flow of the fuel into the core flowpath along a first trajectory for combustion, the second component configured to inject a second flow of the fuel into the core flowpath along a second trajectory for combustion, wherein the second trajectory is angularly offset from the first trajectory, and the fuel delivered to at least one of the first component or the second component comprises hydrogen (H2) fuel.
An assembly for a turbine engine with a flowpath, comprising:
- a compressor section;
- a combustor section;
- a turbine section;
- a core flowpath extending longitudinally through the compressor section, the combustor section and the turbine section from an inlet into the core flowpath to an exhaust from the core flowpath;
- and
- a fuel system including a fuel source, a fuel circuit, a first component and a second component, the fuel circuit configured to deliver fuel received from the fuel source to the first component and the second component, the first component arranged longitudinally upstream of the second component along the core flowpath, the first component configured to inject a first flow of the fuel into the core flowpath for combustion, the second component configured to inject a second flow of the fuel into the core flowpath for combustion, wherein the fuel delivered to at least one of the first component or the second component is hydrogen (H2) fuel.
An assembly for a turbine engine with a flowpath, comprising:
- a compressor section;
- a combustor section;
- a turbine section;
- a core flowpath extending longitudinally through the compressor section, the combustor section and the turbine section from an inlet into the core flowpath to an exhaust from the core flowpath;
- and
- a fuel system including a fuel source, a fuel circuit, a first component and a second component, the fuel circuit configured to deliver fuel received from the fuel source to the first component and the second component, the first component arranged in the core flowpath and configured to inject a first flow of the fuel into the core flowpath for combustion, the second component arranged to a side of the core flowpath and configured to inject a plurality of second flows of the fuel into the core flowpath for combustion, wherein the fuel delivered to at least one of the first component or the second component is hydrogen (H2) fuel.
