Abstract
A fire fighting vehicle includes a chassis, a cab supported by the chassis, the cab including a front wheel well, a body supported by the chassis, the body including a rear wheel well, an engine supported by the chassis and configured to produce exhaust gas, an exhaust aftertreatment system including a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), a diesel particulate filter (DPF), and a selective catalytic reduction catalyst (SCR), and a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank configured to store a supply of DEF to be supplied to the exhaust gas. The DEF tank is at least partially positioned within the front wheel well or the rear wheel well.

A fire fighting vehicle comprising:
- a chassis;
- a cab supported by the chassis, the cab including a front wheel well;
- a body supported by the chassis, the body including a rear wheel well;
- an engine supported by the chassis and configured to produce exhaust gas;
- an exhaust aftertreatment system including a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), a diesel particulate filter (DPF), and a selective catalytic reduction catalyst (SCR);
- and
- a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank configured to store a supply of DEF to be supplied to the exhaust gas;
- wherein the DEF tank is at least partially positioned within the front wheel well or the rear wheel well.
A diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) system for a vehicle, the DEF system comprising:
- a DEF tank configured to store a supply of DEF and supply the DEF to exhaust gas produced by an engine of the vehicle;
- a DEF injector configured to couple with an exhaust aftertreatment system of the vehicle;
- and
- a DEF supply line fluidly coupling the DEF tank with the DEF injector;
- wherein the DEF tank is configured to be positioned within a front wheel well or a rear wheel well of the vehicle.
A fire fighting vehicle comprising:
- a chassis;
- a body supported by the chassis, the body including a wheel well;
- an engine supported by the chassis and configured to produce exhaust gas;
- an exhaust aftertreatment system including a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), a diesel particulate filter (DPF), and a selective catalytic reduction catalyst (SCR);
- and
- a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) system including:
- a DEF tank configured to store a supply of DEF and supply the DEF to the exhaust gas;
- a DEF injector coupled with the exhaust aftertreatment system and positioned upstream of the SCR;
- and
- a DEF supply line fluidly coupling the DEF tank with the DEF injector;
- wherein the DEF tank is at least partially positioned within the wheel well.
