Abstract
Polymer polyols (PMPO) that are a dispersion of polymer particles in a base polyol, in which the PMPO includes a reaction mixture that includes a base polyol, a pre-formed stabilizer (PFS), and an ethylenically unsaturated composition. The ethylenically unsaturated composition includes an ethylenically unsaturated compound (1) that is a reaction product of a free radically polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomer with a hydroxy-terminated alkylene oxide adduct.
Claims19
A polymer polyol (PMPO) comprising a dispersion of polymer particles in a base polyol, wherein the PMPO comprises a reaction product of a reaction mixture comprising:
- (a) the base polyol;
- (b) a pre-formed stabilizer (PFS);
- and
- (c) an ethylenically unsaturated composition comprising:
- (1) an ethylenically unsaturated compound having the average formula (A):
- in which:
- (1) A3 is an organic moiety, the free valence of which is 2 to 8;
- (2) each R3 is a divalent residue comprising an alkylene oxide moiety;
- (3) each X3 is hydrogen or an organic moiety containing reactive unsaturation, copolymerizable with A3, in which about one X3 is the organic moiety containing reactive unsaturation and any remaining X3's are hydrogen;
- and (4) n3 has a value of 2 to 8;
- and
- (2) an ethylenically unsaturated compound that is different from ethylenically unsaturated compound (1).
