Refuse collection drone interface with customer residence

A refuse collection system comprising:

• a refuse chute positioned at a customer home, the refuse chute configured to receive refuse from a customer and transfer the refuse to a pickup zone;
• a refuse collection drone configured to pick up the refuse from the pickup zone;
• a sensor positioned at the refuse chute, the sensor configured to detect the refuse chute receiving refuse from the customer;
• and
• processing circuitry communicably coupled with the sensor and the refuse collection drone, the processing circuitry configured to send a signal to the refuse collection drone to drive to the pickup zone to pick up the refuse based on the sensor detecting the refuse chute receiving refuse from the customer.

A refuse collection system comprising:

• a sensor positioned at a customer home, the sensor configured to detect refuse disposed of by a customer;
• and
• processing circuitry communicably coupled to the sensor, the processing circuitry configured to:
• receive sensor data indicative of the refuse disposed of by the customer from the sensor;
• and
• determine, based on the sensor data, a type of refuse disposed of by the customer.
