Abstract
The present invention relates to a lid from a moulded fiber material, a packaging unit comprising such lid and method for manufacturing the lid. The lid according to the invention comprises a cover part having one or more clamping elements and being configured for covering a packaging unit, and having a cover density, and a breathing element that is provided in the cover part, wherein the breathing element is configured to allow steam to pass through and leave the packaging unit, and wherein the breathing element comprises a breathing density that is smaller as compared to the cover density.

A lid from a moulded fiber material comprising:
- a cover part having one or more clamping elements and being configured for covering a packaging unit, and having a cover density;
- and
- a breathing element that is provided in the cover part, wherein the breathing element is configured to allow steam to pass through and leave the packaging unit, and wherein the breathing element comprises a breathing density that is smaller as compared to the cover density.
A packaging unit comprising a lid from a moulded fiber material, the lid comprising:
- a cover part having one or more clamping elements and being configured for covering a packaging unit, and having a cover density;
- and
- a breathing element that is provided in the cover part, wherein the breathing element is configured to allow steam to pass through and leave the packaging unit, and wherein the breathing element comprises a breathing density that is smaller as compared to the cover density.
A method for manufacturing a lid from a moulded fiber material, wherein the method comprising the steps of:
- preparing a mouldable fiber material;
- forming the mouldable fiber material in a mould into a lid comprising:
- a cover part having one or more clamping elements and being configured for covering a packaging unit, and having a cover density;
- and
- a breathing element that is provided in the cover part, wherein the breathing element is configured to allow steam to pass through and leave the packaging unit, and wherein the breathing element comprises a breathing density that is smaller as compared to the cover density.
