Abstract
A latching device configured to lock or unlock by engaging with or disengaging from a striker includes: a base member having an entry groove that the striker can enter; a latch pivotably supported on the base member and having an engagement key part configured to engage with the striker that has entered the entry groove; and a movement restraining part provided on the base member and disposed across the entry groove.

A latching device configured to lock or unlock by engaging with or disengaging from a striker, the latching device comprising:
- a base member having an entry groove that the striker can enter;
- a latch pivotably supported on the base member and having an engagement key part configured to engage with the striker that has entered the entry groove;
- and
- a movement restraining part provided on the base member and disposed across the entry groove.
