Abstract
Provided is a hair-guiding element for an electric shaver. The hair-guiding element has a skin-contacting surface for contacting skin, and a cutting element-facing surface for facing a cutting element, with the cutting element-facing surface facing in an opposite direction with respect to a direction faced by the skin-contacting surface. The hair-guiding element's periphery provides the hair-guiding element with a toothed profile comprising teeth arranged along a main axis of the hair-guiding element, with the teeth each comprising part of the skin-contacting surface and part of the cutting element-facing surface.
Claims13
A hair-guiding element for an electric shaver, the hair-guiding element comprising:
- a skin-contacting surface for contacting skin;
- a cutting element-facing surface for facing a cutting element, wherein the cutting element-facing surface faces in an opposite direction with respect to a direction faced by the skin-contacting surface;
- a hair-guiding surface on which hair from the skin is receivable, so as to be guided on the hair-guiding surface, when the skin-contacting surface is in contact with the skin;
- and
- a toothed profile comprising teeth arranged along a main axis of the hair-guiding element, with the teeth each comprising part of the skin-contacting surface and part of the cutting element-facing surface,
- wherein at least some of the teeth each comprise a part of the hair-guiding surface and a tip region that is arranged to receive the hair thereon when the hair-guiding element is moved over the skin, with the part of the hair-guiding surface extending, in a direction transverse to the main axis, away from the tip region and towards the part of the cutting element-facing surface so as to enable the part of the hair-guiding surface to guide the hair that has been received on the tip region towards the part of the cutting element-facing surface, and
- wherein a tooth thickness at the tip region is less than about 250μm, which tooth thickness is a diameter of a smallest notional circle whose circumference is intersected by both the part of the hair-guiding surface and the part of the skin-contacting surface, with the smallest notional circle's plane being perpendicular to the main axis.
