Abstract
An example device for repairing a tissue is described herein. The device can include a flexible carrier layer, and a support member including a plurality of micro-protrusions extending therefrom. The support member can be at least partially integrated with the flexible carrier layer. Additionally, the flexible carrier layer can be configured to cover at least a portion of the tissue, and the microprotrusions can be configured to mechanically interface with the tissue.

A device for repairing a nerve having a repair site between a first nerve end and a second nerve end, comprising:
- a flexible carrier layer comprising a biologic material, the flexible carrier layer being configured to cover at least a portion the first nerve end and the second nerve end;
- and
- a plurality of strings of microhooks coupled to the flexible carrier layer, each string of microhooks comprising:
- a filament extending along a first axis;
- a plurality of microhooks extending from the filament;
- and
- at least one filament cross bridge configured to couple a first string of microhooks of the plurality of strings of microhooks to a second string of microhooks of the plurality of strings of microhooks.
A device for repairing a nerve having a repair site between a first nerve end and a second nerve end, comprising:
- a flexible carrier layer, comprising a biologic material;
- the flexible carrier layer being configured to cover at least a portion the first nerve end and the second nerve end to span the nerve repair site;
- and
- a plurality of strings of microhooks coupled to the flexible carrier layer, each string of microhooks comprising:
- a polymer filament extending along a first axis;
- and
- a plurality of polymer microhooks extending from the filament.
A device for repairing a nerve, comprising:
- at least one flexible carrier layer, wherein the at least one flexible carrier layer is a biologic material;
- and
- a plurality of filaments, each of the plurality of filaments comprising a plurality of microhooks, wherein:
- the at least one flexible carrier layer is configured to cover at least a portion of the nerve, the microhooks are configured to attach to a superficial tissue of the nerve, and the filaments are not interconnected with one another.
