Multipurpose handles and medical snare or other devices incorporating them

A method for retrieving a medical implant device from a site in a vasculature of a patient, comprising:

• deploying a snare loop of a medical snare device from a sheath of the medical snare device by moving an actuation button of a handle of the medical snare device along a longitudinal axis of the handle in a first direction, the actuation button also being rotatable to rotate the snare loop;
• positioning the snare loop around the medical implant device;
• tightening the snare loop around the medical implant device by moving the actuation button along the longitudinal axis of the handle in a second direction opposite the first direction;
• and
• retrieving the medical implant device from the site with the snare loop tightened around the medical implant device.

A medical snare device, comprising:

• a handle having an actuation button, the actuation button being movable along a longitudinal axis of the handle and rotatable;
• a sheath connected to the handle;
• a control rod connected to the actuation button and extending through the sheath;
• and
• a deployable and retractable snare loop connected to the control rod, the snare loop being deployable from and retractable into the sheath by movement of the actuation button along the longitudinal axis, the snare loop further being rotatable by rotation of the actuation button.
