Abstract
The present invention relates to a biosensor, an outer membrane of a biosensor, methods of preparation and use thereof. The outer membrane includes polymer molecules containing thioureido groups, which result from polymerization of a pyridyl-containing polymer with a thioureido-containing monomer. That is, thioureido groups in the monomer and pyridyl groups in the polymer are held together by chemical bonds. The thioureido groups in the outer membrane can absorb silver ions and block their escape from a reference electrode through osmosis, increasing biocompatibility of the outer membrane and reducing its toxicity.
Claims9
An outer membrane of a biosensor, comprising polymer molecules containing thioureido groups, which result from polymerization of a pyridyl-containing polymer with a thioureido-containing monomer.
A method of preparing an outer membrane of a biosensor, comprising the steps of:
- mixing a crosslinking agent terminated with an epoxy ether with a functionality greater than three with a thioureido-containing monomer, obtaining a mixed solution;
- obtaining a polymer solution from dissolution of a pyridyl-containing polymer;
- and
- adding the mixed solution to the polymer solution and performing dip-coating, thereby forming the outer membrane of the biosensor.
