Claims19
A jacket system including an article of clothing having storage features configured to resist wind forces during operation of an open vehicle by an operator, said operator having an upper torso partially defined by an operator back side surface, said back side surface being at least partially rearwardly directed when said operator is operating said vehicle in a forward direction, said jacket system comprising:
- A) a jacket component, including a rear panel configured to at least partially cover said torso of said operator, including said operator back side surface of said operator,
- said rear panel including an exterior back panel portion and an interior back panel portion, said exterior back panel portion and said interior back panel portion combining to define a selectively accessible storage cavity therebetween,
- said selectively accessible cavity being accessible through an opening in said interior back panel portion;
- and
- B) a removable storage container which fits within said storage cavity and is configured to be inserted and removed into and out of said storage cavity through said opening in said interior back panel portion,
- said removable storage container including a selectively accessible inner container cavity capable of storage.
- A) a jacket component, including a rear panel configured to at least partially cover said torso of said operator, including said operator back side surface of said operator,
- said rear panel including an exterior back panel portion and an interior back panel portion, said exterior back panel portion and said interior back panel portion combining to define a selectively accessible storage cavity therebetween,
- said selectively accessible cavity being accessible through an opening in said interior back panel portion, and
- B) a removable storage container which fits within said storage cavity and is configured to be inserted and removed into and out of said storage cavity through said opening in said interior back panel portion,
- wherein said exterior back panel of said rear portion of said jacket bulges outwardly and rearwardly to define a simulated back hump shape.
A method of using a jacket system including an article of clothing having storage features configured to resist wind forces during operation of an open vehicle by an operator, said operator having an upper torso partially defined by an operator back side surface, said back side surface being at least partially rearwardly directed when said operator is operating said vehicle in a forward direction, said method comprising the steps of:
- A) providing a jacket component, including a rear portion configured to at least partially cover said torso of said operator, including said operator back side surface of said operator,
- said rear portion including an exterior back panel and an interior back panel, said exterior back panel and said interior back panel combining to form a selectively accessible storage cavity therebetween,
- said selectively accessible cavity being accessible through an opening in said interior back panel;
- B) providing a removable storage container which fits within said storage cavity and is configured to be inserted and removed into and out of said storage cavity through said opening in said interior back panel,
- said removable storage container including a selectively accessible inner container cavity capable of storage;
- C) installing said container in said storage cavity of said jacket component;
- D) placing said jacket component in a worn position on said operator;
- E) maintaining said jacket in said worn position on said operator while said operator operates said vehicle by causing it to travel in a forward direction a selected distance;
- F) maintaining said jacket in said worn position on said operator while said operator stops the travel of said vehicle;
- G) removing said jacket from said worn position on said operator;
- H) removing said storage container from said storage cavity of said jacket component;
- and
- I) accessing said storage container while said storage container is removed from said storage cavity of said jacket component.
