Abstract
Systems, devices, and methods are provided. In one example, a system is described that includes circuits to computing device comprising one or more circuits to determine a maximum number of credits of a shared pool of credits for a first virtual lane of a plurality of virtual lanes, determine a number of credits of the shared pool of credits currently used by the virtual lane is less than the maximum number of credits for the first virtual lane, and in response to determining the currently used number of credits of the shared pool of credits is less than the maximum number of credits, forward a packet associated with the first virtual lane to an egress buffer.
Claims20
A computing device comprising one or more circuits to:
- determine a maximum number of credits of a shared pool of credits for a first virtual lane of a plurality of virtual lanes;
- determine a number of credits of the shared pool of credits currently used by the virtual lane is less than the maximum number of credits for the first virtual lane;
- and
- in response to determining the currently used number of credits of the shared pool of credits is less than the maximum number of credits, forward a packet associated with the first virtual lane to an egress buffer.
A communication switch comprising:
- a plurality of communication ports;
- and
- a control circuit controlling operation of the communication switch, wherein the control circuit causes the communication switch to:
- determine a maximum number of credits of a shared pool of credits for a first virtual lane of a plurality of virtual lanes;
- determine a number of credits of the shared pool of credits currently used by the virtual lane is less than the maximum number of credits for the first virtual lane;
- and
- in response to determining the currently used number of credits of the shared pool of credits is less than the maximum number of credits, forward a packet associated with the first virtual lane to an egress buffer.
A method, comprising:
- determining a maximum number of credits of a shared pool of credits for a first virtual lane of a plurality of virtual lanes;
- determining a number of credits of the shared pool of credits currently used by the virtual lane is less than the maximum number of credits for the first virtual lane;
- and
- in response to determining the currently used number of credits of the shared pool of credits is less than the maximum number of credits, forwarding a packet associated with the first virtual lane to an egress buffer.
