Control Plane Device Switching Method and Apparatus, and Forwarding-Control Separation System

A method, applied to a standby control plane (CP) device in a broadband remote access server (BRAS) system in which a CP and a user plane (UP) are separated, wherein the BRAS system comprises a plurality of UP devices, an active CP device, and the standby CP device, and wherein the method comprises:

• determining, when a first communication performance between at least one UP device in the plurality of UP devices and the active CP device does not meet a normal communication condition, that a first quantity of the at least one UP device is greater than or equal to a first quantity threshold or that a proportion of the first quantity to a second quantity of the plurality of UP devices is greater than or equal to a proportion threshold;
• sending, to the plurality of UP devices and in response to determining that the first quantity is greater than or equal to the quantity threshold or that the proportion is greater than or equal to the proportion threshold, a switching instruction instructing the plurality of UP devices to be switched over to the standby CP device;
• and
• managing, after sending the switching instruction, a first user which was managed by the active CP device.

A standby control plane (CP) device, in a broadband remote access server (BRAS) system in which a CP and a user plane (UP) are separated, wherein the BRAS system comprises a plurality of UP devices, an active CP device, and the standby CP device, and wherein the standby CP device comprises:

• a memory configured to store instructions;
• and
• a processor coupled to the memory and configured to execute the instructions to cause the standby CP device to:
• determine, when a first communication performance between at least one UP device in the plurality of UP devices and the active CP device does not meet a normal communication condition, that a first quantity of the at least one UP device is greater than or equal to a quantity threshold or that a proportion of the first quantity to a second quantity of the plurality of UP devices is greater than or equal to a first proportion threshold;
• send, to the plurality of UP devices and in response to determining that the first quantity is greater than or equal to the quantity threshold or that the proportion is greater than or equal to the proportion threshold, a switching instruction instructing the plurality of UP devices to be switched over to the standby CP device;
• and
• manage, after sending the switching instruction, a first user which was managed by the active CP device.
