Abstract
A battery cell cooling unit to be arranged between battery cells is provided. The battery cell cooling unit includes: two facing plates in a space between the battery cells and respectively facing the battery cells; a thermoelectric element between the two facing plates and configured to dissipate heat generated by the battery cells; and an elastic pad between the two facing plates and configured to absorb volumetric expansion caused by swelling of the battery cells.

A battery cell cooling unit between battery cells, the battery cell cooling unit comprising:
- two facing plates in a space between the battery cells and respectively facing the battery cells;
- a thermoelectric element between the two facing plates and configured to dissipate heat generated by the battery cells;
- and
- an elastic pad between the two facing plates and configured to absorb volumetric expansion caused by swelling of the battery cells.
A battery module comprising:
- a plurality of battery cells;
- and
- a battery cell cooling unit between adjacent ones of the battery cells, the battery cell cooling unit comprising:
- two facing plates in a space between the adjacent ones of the battery cells and respectively facing the adjacent ones of the battery cells;
- a thermoelectric element between the two facing plates and configured to dissipate heat generated by the battery cells;
- and
- an elastic pad between the two facing plates and configured to absorb volumetric expansion caused by swelling of the battery cells.
A method of manufacturing a battery module comprising a plurality of battery cells, the method comprising:
- providing a battery cell cooling unit, the battery cell cooling unit comprising:
- two facing plates;
- a thermoelectric element between the two facing plates and configured to dissipate heat generated by the battery cells;
- and
- an elastic pad between the two facing plates and configured to absorb volumetric expansion caused by swelling of the battery cells;
- and
- interposing the battery cell cooling unit between adjacent ones of the battery cells.
