Iot devices

A system of managing interactions between an Internet of Things (IoT) device and a third-party system, in connection with performing an autonomous task, the system comprising:

• an IoT server including a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory including executable instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform the steps of:
• receiving a request from the IoT device to perform the autonomous task with the third-party system, the request including an IoT device identifier and parameter data related to the autonomous task;
• looking up one or more user-approved operating parameters for the IoT device based on the IoT device identifier included in the request;
• comparing the parameter data contained in the request to user-approved operating parameters for the IoT device;
• determining whether the parameter data contained in the request conforms to the user-approved operating parameters for the IoT device;
• and
• in response to the parameter data included in the request conforming to the user-approved operating parameters for the IoT device, authorizing the request to perform the autonomous task.
