Display apparatus

A display apparatus comprising:

• a display panel;
• a light guide plate at a rear of the display panel;
• a light source board;
• a plurality of light sources on the light source board and adjacent to a peripheral surface of the light guide plate, the plurality of light sources being configured to emit light toward the peripheral surface of the light guide plate;
• a plurality of ribs between the light guide plate and the light source board and between the plurality of light sources;
• a plurality of dimming blocks, each of the plurality of dimming blocks comprising light sources among the plurality of light sources;
• and
• a control board connected to the light source board and configured to supply a driving current to the plurality of light sources,
• wherein the plurality of light sources comprises:
• a first number of first light sources;
• a second number of second light sources, the second number being greater than the first number, and
• wherein plurality of dimming blocks comprises a first dimming block comprising at least some of the first light sources, and a second dimming block comprising at least some of the second light sources,
• wherein the first light sources are between a first rib and a second rib that is adjacent to the first rib among the plurality of ribs,
• wherein the second light sources are between the second rib and a third rib that is adjacent to the second rib among the plurality of ribs, and
• wherein the control board is configured to:
• supply a first current of a first magnitude to the first dimming block, and
• supply a second current of a second magnitude less than the first magnitude to the second dimming block.
