A thermoelectric cooler includes a hybrid power architecture that provides active cooling and heating. The cooler includes a body defining an internal storage space and a lid housing thermoelectric modules coupled to a cooling and heating plate. A rechargeable battery supplies power to the thermoelectric modules and is chargeable by an integrated solar panel or an external alternating current source through a power conversion module. A controller manages power distribution and regulates operation of the thermoelectric modules to maintain a selected temperature within the internal storage space. In some embodiments, multiple thermoelectric modules are independently controlled to enable different temperature zones within the cooler, including simultaneous cooling and heating. The lid-integrated thermal architecture preserves internal storage volume while enabling efficient heat dissipation. Wireless communication and user interface features may be provided for monitoring and control. The system enables portable, energy-efficient, and off-grid temperature regulation without reliance on ice or refrigerants.
