There is provided a slide bearing that is unlikely to be damaged due to discharge on a rotating shaft and a sliding surface. A slide bearing bears a rotating shaft of a vehicle driving motor. The slide bearing includes a metal base having a cylindrical shape and an insulating layer. The metal base includes an inner circumferential surface, an outer circumferential surface, and two axial-directional end surfaces. The insulating layer covers the inner circumferential surface of the metal base and a part of each of the two axial-directional end surfaces of the metal base. The metal base is constituted by a back metal layer and a bearing alloy layer that is joined to the back metal layer on the inner side of the back metal layer in the radial direction of the cylindrical shape. Each of the axial-directional end surfaces is constituted by a first region and a second region that is positioned on the outer side of the first region in the radial direction of the cylindrical shape. The insulating layer covers only the whole of the first region on each of the axial-directional end surfaces. The length of the first region is more than the length of the bearing alloy layer and is less than or equal to 60% of the length of the metal base, in the radial direction of the cylindrical shape.
