Roof underlayment device

A roofing underlayment assembly comprising:

• a sheet being planar wherein the sheet is configured to be positionable on a roof surface, the sheet having a sheet first layer, a sheet second layer, a sheet third layer, and a sheet fourth layer, the sheet second layer being positioned to cover the sheet first layer, the sheet third layer being positioned to cover the sheet second layer, the sheet fourth layer being positioned to cover the sheet third layer, the sheet having a pair of opposing lateral edges, the sheet having a sheet width being measured between the pair of opposing lateral edges, the sheet width of the sheet being between 24.0 inches and 60.0 inches, the sheet first layer comprising a felt material and the sheet fourth layer comprising a fibrous material wherein the sheet is configured to facilitate waterproofing of the roof surface, the fibrous material including paper and fabric, the sheet third layer comprising a reinforced mesh material, the sheet second layer comprising an adhesive material wherein the sheet second layer securely couples the sheet first layer to the sheet third layer;
• a plurality of patches being coupled to the sheet fourth layer of the sheet, the plurality of patches being spaced from and aligned with each other along a sheet length of the sheet wherein the plurality of patches are configured to facilitate a user in placing a plurality of fasteners through the sheet to secure the sheet to the roof surface, the sheet length of the sheet being measured perpendicularly to the sheet width of the sheet, each patch of the plurality of patches including:
• a patch primary layer being positioned on the sheet fourth layer, the patch primary layer comprising a synthetic rubber material;
• a patch secondary layer being positioned to cover the patch primary layer, the patch secondary layer comprising the reinforced mesh material;
• and
• a patch tertiary layer being positioned to cover the patch secondary layer, the patch tertiary layer comprising the synthetic rubber material, the patch tertiary layer having a patch tertiary layer upper surface and a patch tertiary layer peripheral surface being coupled to and extending between the patch tertiary layer upper surface and the patch secondary layer, the patch tertiary layer peripheral surface being beveled wherein the patch tertiary layer peripheral surface extends upwardly from the patch secondary layer and inwardly to the patch tertiary layer upper surface;
• the plurality of patches being arranged in a plurality of rows across the sheet width of the sheet, the plurality of rows including:
• a pair of outer rows being positioned adjacent to the pair of opposing lateral edges wherein each outer row of the pair of outer rows is positioned adjacent to a respective opposing lateral edge of the pair of opposing lateral edges of the sheet, each patch of the plurality of patches in each outer row of the pair of outer rows being spaced from an adjacent patch of the plurality of patches in each outer row of the pair of outer rows by between 4.0 inches and 6.0 inches, each patch of the plurality of patches in each outer row of the pair of outer rows being circular;
• a central row being centered between the pair of opposing lateral edges of the sheet, each patch of the plurality of patches in the central row being spaced from an adjacent patch of the plurality of patches in the central row by between 4.0 inches and 6.0 inches, each patch of the plurality of patches in the central row being rectangular wherein each patch of the plurality of patches in the central row further includes:
• a pair of short ends being parallel to the pair of opposing lateral edges of the sheet;
• and
• a pair of elongated ends being perpendicular to the pair of short ends wherein the pair of elongated ends are parallel to the sheet width of the sheet;
• and
• a pair of medial rows, each medial row of the pair of medial rows being centered between a respective outer row of the pair of outer rows and the central row wherein the plurality of rows are symmetrical about a centerline of the sheet, the centerline of the sheet being equidistant from each opposing lateral edge of the pair of opposing lateral edges of the sheet, each patch of the plurality of patches in each medial row of the pair of medial rows being spaced from an adjacent patch of the plurality of patches in each medial row of the pair of medial rows by between 9.0 inches and 11.0 inches, each patch of the plurality of patches in each medial row of the pair of medial rows being circular, each patch of the plurality of patches in each medial row of the pair of medial rows having a diameter exceeding a diameter of each patch of the plurality of patches in each outer row of the pair of outer rows;
• a plurality of adhesive strips being couplable to the sheet wherein the plurality of adhesive strips is configured to facilitate the user in placing the plurality of fasteners through the sheet to secure the sheet to the roof surface, each adhesive strip of the plurality of adhesive strips comprising the synthetic rubber material, each adhesive strip of the plurality of adhesive strips including:
• an adhesive strip primary end;
• an adhesive strip secondary end being parallel to the adhesive strip primary end;
• a pair of adhesive strip opposing edges being coupled to and extending between the adhesive strip primary end and the adhesive strip secondary end wherein each adhesive strip of the plurality of adhesive strips is rectangular;
• an adhesive strip top side being planar;
• an adhesive strip bottom side being planar;
• and
• a plurality of adhesive strip perforated lines extending into the adhesive strip top side and outwardly through the adhesive strip bottom side wherein the plurality of adhesive strip perforated lines are configured to facilitate the user in separating each adhesive strip of the plurality of adhesive strip into a plurality of adhesive pieces, the plurality of adhesive strip perforated lines being spaced from each other by between 1.0 inches and 3.0 inches wherein the plurality of adhesive strip perforated lines define uniform dimensions for the plurality of adhesive pieces;
• an adhesive strip adhesive material being positioned to cover the adhesive strip bottom side of each adhesive strip of the plurality of adhesive strips, the adhesive strip adhesive material being adhesively engageable with the sheet fourth layer of the sheet;
• and
• a cover being removably affixed to the adhesive strip adhesive material wherein the cover is configured to inhibit debris from damaging the adhesive strip adhesive material while the cover is affixed to the adhesive strip adhesive material.
