Abstract
A sink substrate vessel for use in combination with an architectural surface vanity sink or other plumbing assembly, to prevent leakage and water damage. The sink substrate vessel may be fabricated by folding a unitary blank of waterproof sheet material to form a leakproof enclosure.
Claims20
A foldable waterproof slab template for a sink substrate vessel, the foldable waterproof slab template comprising:
- a waterproof slab comprising a top surface and a bottom surface;
- and
- a panel pattern of grooves formed into the top surface and partly defining bevel edges of a base panel, bevel edges of at least one side panel, and folding regions along vertices of the grooves,
- wherein the bevel edges of the base panel and the bevel edges of the at least one side panel cooperate with one another to at least partly form the sink substrate vessel when the at least one side panel is folded along the folding regions.

A sink substrate vessel, comprising:
- a base panel having bevel edges partly defined by grooves formed into a folded waterproof slab template;
- and
- a plurality of side panels having side bevel edges and end bevel edges partly defined by the grooves formed into the folded waterproof slab template,
- wherein:
- the folded waterproof slab template is folded along folding regions formed in part by and along vertices of the grooves;
- and
- the side bevel edges of the plurality of side panels are coupled to the bevel edges of the base panel and corresponding end bevel edges among the end bevel edges of the plurality of side panels are coupled to one another to form the sink substrate vessel from the folded waterproof slab template as a unitary leakproof enclosure.

A method of fabricating a sink substrate vessel, the method comprising:
- forming a panel pattern of grooves into a top surface of a waterproof slab to partly define bevel edges of a base panel, bevel edges of at least one side panel, and folding regions along vertices of the grooves;
- folding the at least one side panel along the folding regions to at least partly form a sink substrate vessel structure;
- and
- coupling the bevel edges of the base panel to the bevel edges of the at least one side panel to form the sink substrate vessel as a unitary leakproof sink substrate enclosure.
