Abstract
A concrete slab joint forming system and method for forming a joint between adjacent concrete slabs. In various embodiments, the concrete slab joint forming system includes a concrete slab joint former, an extension connector, a cross intersection connector, a tee intersection connector, an end connector, a field cut connector, and/or any combination of any quantity of these components.
Claims15
A concrete slab cross intersection connector comprising:
- a load transfer corner tongue former including:
- a wall connector,
- an upright vertically extending first divider connected to the wall connector and extending outwardly from the wall connector in a first direction,
- an upright vertically extending second divider connected to the wall connector and extending outwardly from the wall connector in a second direction,
- an upright vertically extending third divider connected to the wall connector and extending outwardly from the wall connector in a third direction, and
- an upright vertically extending fourth divider connected to the wall connector and extending outwardly from the wall connector in a fourth direction,
- wherein:
- the first, second, third, and fourth directions are different,
- the first divider and the second divider form a first slab concrete receipt pocket,
- the second divider and the third divider form a second slab concrete receipt pocket,
- the third divider and the fourth divider form a third slab concrete receipt pocket, and
- the first divider and the fourth divider form a fourth slab concrete receipt pocket;
- and
- a load transfer lip former including:
- a central section,
- a first end connection section,
- a second end connection section,
- a third end connection section, and
- a fourth end connection section,
- wherein the first, second, third, and fourth end connection sections are connected to top ends of the first, second, third and fourth dividers.

A concrete slab end connector comprising:
- an upright vertically extending form connector defining fastener receivers configured to receive fasteners that can connect the concrete slab end connector to formwork;
- a load transfer tongue former including an upright vertically extending divider connected to the upright vertically extending form connector, wherein the load transfer tongue former and the upright vertically extending divider form a first slab concrete receipt pocket and a second slab concrete receipt pocket;
- and
- a load transfer lip former including a central section and a first end connection section connected to a top of the divider,
- wherein the load transfer corner tongue former and the load transfer lip former are configured to form an end area for a joint former.

A concrete slab field cut connector comprising:
- an upright vertically extending load transfer tongue former;
- a load transfer lip former connected to a top of the load transfer tongue former;
- a first locking lip connected to an extending in a first direction from the load transfer tongue former below and spaced-apart from the load transfer corner lip former and defining a first lip former receipt pocket;
- and
- a second locking lip connected to an extending in a second direction from the load transfer tongue former below and spaced-apart from the load transfer corner lip former and defining a second lip former receipt pocket, the second direction being opposite the first direction,
- wherein the load transfer tongue former, the load transfer lip former, and the first and second locking lips are configured to form a connection between two joint formers.
