Abstract

The method of recovering lithium according to the present invention comprises: a step of physically sorting and crushing waste lithium batteries to obtain a lithium source; heat-treating the lithium source at a temperature of 100 to 1,600° C.; water leaching the heat-treated lithium source to separate it into a first lithium source residue and a lithium carbonate solution; recovering lithium carbonate from the lithium carbonate solution; adding a chlorination material to the first lithium source residue and heat-treating it; water leaching the heat-treated first lithium source residue to separate it into a second lithium source residue and a lithium chloride solution; and recovering lithium chloride from the lithium chloride solution.
