Abstract
The present invention relates to cutting body hair such as beard stubbles of multidays' beard. More particularly, the present invention relates to a cutter system for an electric shaver and trimmer, comprising a pair of cooperating cutting elements with two rows of comb-like cutting teeth at opposite edges thereof and at least one field of cutting perforations between said rows of comb-like cutting teeth, which cutting perforations are formed in a skin contact surface or skin facing surface of said cutting elements, wherein said cutting elements are movably supported relative to each other by a support structure which provides for a pivot axis about which said cooperating cutting elements are pivotable to follow the skin contour.
Claims19
A cutter system for an electric shaver or trimmer, the cutter system comprising:
- a pair of cooperating inner and outer cutting elements each with two rows of comb-like cutting teeth at opposite edges thereof, the outer cutting element comprising a skin contact surface,
- wherein said skin contact surface extends continuously between said rows of comb-like cutting teeth of the outer cutting element,
- wherein said skin contact surface has a plate-shaped configuration as said skin contact surface extends continuously from one of said rows of comb-like cutting teeth to another of said rows of comb-like cutting teeth,
- wherein said pair of cooperating cutting elements are movably supported relative to each other by a support structure which provides for a pivot axis about which said pair of cooperating cutting elements are pivotable to follow a skin contour, said pivot axis extending substantially parallel to a longitudinal direction of said rows of comb-like cutting teeth, and
- wherein said pivot axis is positioned offset from a middle plane that extends perpendicular to a center section of said skin contact surface of said outer cutting element and thus closer to a first one of said rows of comb-like cutting teeth than to a second one of said rows of comb-like cutting teeth.
A cutter system for an electric shaver or trimmer, the cutter system comprising:
- an inner cutting element comprising first and second rows of first cutting teeth arranged in a longitudinal direction of the cutter system at opposite edges of the inner cutting element, the inner cutting element having a plate-shaped configuration;
- an outer cutting element comprising a skin contact surface having a plate-shaped configuration disposed between first and second edge portions of the outer cutting element at opposite edges of the outer cutting element, each edge portion comprising a respective holding flange and a respective row of comb-like cutting teeth arranged in the longitudinal direction, the edge portions each being bent or curved around a corresponding one of the opposite edges of the inner cutting element so that the first and second rows of comb-like cutting teeth cooperate with the first and second rows of the first cutting teeth as the inner cutting element reciprocates relative to the outer cutting element in a reciprocating direction parallel to the longitudinal direction;
- an inner frame configured to support the inner cutting element;
- and
- an outer frame configured to support the holding flanges of the outer cutting element;
- and
- wherein the inner cutting element and the outer cutting element are pivotable about the pivot axis to follow a skin contour.
A cutter system for an electric shaver or trimmer, the cutter system comprising a pair of cooperating inner and outer cutting elements each with two rows of comb-like cutting teeth at opposite edges thereof, the outer cutting element comprising a skin contact surface,
- wherein said skin contact surface extends continuously between said rows of comb-like cutting teeth of the outer cutting element,
- wherein said skin contact surface has a plate-shaped configuration as said skin contact surface extends continuously from one of said rows of comb-like cutting teeth to another of said rows of comb-like cutting teeth of the outer cutting element,
- wherein the outer cutting element further comprises at least one field of cutting perforations in the skin contact surface having the plate-like configuration,
- wherein the comb-like cutting teeth are positioned on opposite edges of the skin contact surface having the plate-like configuration of the outer cutting element, and
- wherein said pair of cooperating cutting elements are movably supported relative to each other by a support structure which provides for a pivot axis about which said pair of cooperating cutting elements are pivotable to follow a skin contour.
