Abstract
The present invention relates generally to methods of generating a biomimetic cell wall (BCW) on a target surface, compositions comprising the BCW, and methods of use of the compositions, including biomedical applications of the BCW coated compositions.

A biomimetic cell wall (BCW) structure on a surface, comprising:
- a polymerized oligonucleotide with crosslinked side groups;
- and
- a therapeutic agent or a prophylactic agent,
- wherein the therapeutic agent or the prophylactic agent is encapsulated by the polymerized oligonucleotide with crosslinked side groups.

A method of treating a disease or disorder in a subject, comprising:
- administering to the subject a substrate with a BCW coated surface,
- wherein the substrate comprises a therapeutic agent, and
- wherein the BCW comprises polymerized oligonucleotide structures crosslinked through side groups to form a matrix on the substrate surface.
