Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a system and kit for preparing a reconstitutable cytotoxic pharmaceutical formulation within a closed system to prevent unintended contact with or release of the cytotoxic pharmaceutical formulation. A safety connector and a vial adapter are provided, which include check valves that prevent the unintended release of the cytotoxic pharmaceutical formulation. Also disclosed herein are methods of using the system and kit.
Claims20
A method of treating glaucoma in a patient in need thereof, the method comprising:
- reconstituting a sterile dose of a cytotoxic formulation;
- and
- injecting the reconstituted cytotoxic formulation to the periocular tissue of the patient in need thereof.
A method of administering a dose of a reconstituted cytotoxic formulation for administration to a patient, the method comprising:
- preparing a dose of the reconstituted cytotoxic formulation using a sterile, closed system;
- and
- injecting the dose of the reconstituted cytotoxic formulation to the periocular tissue of the patient in need thereof.
