A hearing protection system may include earplugs, each having a stem. The stem may include a proximal portion including an attachment portion arranged for attachment to a sound attenuating element. The stem may include a distal portion including an engaging portion configured to engage with an engagement portion of a stem for another earplug.

- a proximal portion including an attachment portion arranged for attachment to a sound attenuating element;
