Abstract
An adjustable pillow device for adjusting a thickness of a pillow so users can rest their head and neck comfortably and at an ergonomically healthy angle relative to their body includes a base. A stand is coupled to the base. The stand is movably coupled to the base wherein the stand is vertically adjustable relative to the base. More specifically, the stand is movable between a lowered position and a raised position. A pad is coupled to the stand. The pad includes a resiliently compressible material wherein the pad is designed to cushion a head of a user while the head of the user is supported on the stand. A lift mechanism is actuatable to move the stand between the lowered position and the raised position.
Claims18
An adjustable pillow assembly comprising:
- a base;
- a stand being coupled to the base, the stand being movably coupled to the base wherein the stand is vertically adjustable relative to the base, the stand being movable between a lowered position and a raised position,
- a pad being coupled to the stand, the pad including a resiliently compressible material wherein the pad is configured to cushion a head of a user while the head of the user is supported on the stand;
- and
- a lift mechanism being actuatable to move the stand between the lowered position and the raised position.
An adjustable pillow assembly comprising:
- a base having a lower wall and a peripheral wall being coupled to and extending upwardly from the lower wall to define an interior space, the lower wall being planar wherein the base is configured to be positionable on a bed, the peripheral wall having an upper edge defining an opening extending into the interior space, the peripheral wall including:
- a rear side;
- a forward side;
- a pair of lateral sides extending between the rear side and the forward side;
- a stand being coupled to the base, the stand being movably coupled to the base wherein the stand is vertically adjustable relative to the lower wall of the base, the stand being movable between a lowered position and a raised position, the stand including:
- a top wall having a width being less than a width of the lower wall of the base;
- and
- a side wall being coupled to and extending downwardly from the top wall, the side wall having a width being less than a width of the peripheral wall of the base wherein the side wall is positionable within the opening extending into the interior space of the base;
- a notch extending through the side wall, the notch extending upwardly through the bottom edge of the side wall toward the top wall of the stand;
- a bumper being coupled to the top wall of the stand, the bumper having a width exceeding a width of the top wall of the stand wherein the bumper extends outwardly past the top wall of the stand and wherein the bumper inhibits the stand from being lowered past the upper edge of the peripheral wall of the base;
- a pad being coupled to the stand wherein the bumper is positioned between the top wall of the stand and the pad, the pad including a resiliently compressible material wherein the pad is configured to cushion a head of a user while the head of the user is supported on the stand, the pad having a width being less than a width of the bumper wherein the bumper extends outwardly past the pad;
- and
- a lift mechanism being actuatable to move the stand between the lowered position and the raised position, the lift mechanism releasably securing a position of the stand relative to the base when the lift mechanism is deactivated.
