Abstract
A collapsible storage cabinet having an improved structure and assembly technique is disclosed. The storage cabinet is designed to collapse to a compact size to minimize required shipping and retail space usage, while providing for ease of assembly by a consumer and improved structural design. The collapsible storage cabinet includes a collapsible subassembly having a front wall, an opposing back wall, and a pair of folding sidewalls extending between and coupling the front wall and back wall. A top wall or collar, and a bottom wall, are selectively secured to the subassembly to maintain the cabinet in a fully assembled state. A toe kick cover may be assembled around the base to provide a more finished appearance and to hide a plurality of leveling feet.
Claims16
A toe kick cover for a collapsible cabinet having a base with a plurality of leveling feet depending downwardly from the base, the toe kick cover comprising:
- a front toe kick cover having a horizontal support flange, a vertical cover flange, and a horizontal, inwardly depending alignment flange, wherein the support flange and the alignment flange are generally parallel and wherein when the front toe kick cover is coupled with the base the front toe kick cover conceals a portion of the base, portions of the leveling feet, and portions of the space between the leveling feet.
A toe kick cover for a collapsible storage cabinet having a base with a plurality of leveling feet depending downwardly from the base, the toe kick cover comprising:
- a front toe kick cover having a horizontal support flange, a vertical cover flange, and a horizontal, inwardly depending alignment flange, wherein the support flange and the alignment flange are generally parallel and wherein when the front toe kick cover is coupled with the base the front toe kick cover conceals a portion of the base, portions of the leveling feet, and portions of the space between the leveling feet;
- and
- a side toe kick cover having a horizontal support flange, a vertical cover flange, and a horizontal, inwardly depending alignment flange, wherein the support flange and the alignment flange are generally parallel and wherein when the side toe kick cover is coupled with the base the side toe kick cover conceals a portion of the base, portions of the leveling feet, and portions of the space between the leveling feet;
- wherein the front toe kick cover conceals a front of the base;
- and
- wherein the side toe kick cover conceals a side of the base.
A method of concealing a portion of a base for a collapsible cabinet, wherein the base includes a vertical sidewall having a horizontal lip therein, a lower surface of the base, and a plurality of leveling feet depending downwardly from the base, the method comprising:
- obtaining a front toe kick cover having a horizontal support flange, a vertical cover flange, and a horizontal, inwardly depending alignment flange, wherein the support flange and the alignment flange are generally parallel;
- abutting the front toe kick cover with a front side of the base, wherein the support flange is positioned on top of the lip, wherein the cover flange is positioned adjacent the front side of the base, wherein the alignment flange is positioned adjacent the lower surface of the base, whereby the front toe kick cover conceals a front portion of the base, portions of the leveling feet, and portions of the space between the leveling feet.
