Abstract
A footwear closure device is described, comprising a support structure; a reel pivoted rotatably on the structure to wind up a flexible member by turning in a first direction; a lever pivoted rotatably on the structure about a fulcrum; an arm that has a first end hinged to the lever at a point away from the fulcrum and a free second end, opposite the first, adapted for engaging the reel and turning it in the first direction and transmitting a traction force from the lever to the reel; a retaining member movably mounted on the structure to move between a first position in which it leaves the reel idle, and a second position in which it engages the reel to prevent rotation thereof in a direction opposite the first direction.

Footwear closure device, comprising:
- a support structure;
- a reel pivoted rotatably on the structure to wind up a flexible member by turning in a first direction;
- a lever pivoted rotatably on the structure about a fulcrum;
- an arm that
- has a first end hinged to the lever at a point away from the fulcrum and
- a free second end, opposite the first, adapted for
- engaging the reel and turning it in the first direction and
