Article of Headwear

A face guard configured to be worn on a human head, the face guard comprising:

• a protective panel including an upper perimeter, a lower perimeter and a lateral side;
• and
• an ear loop connected to the lateral side of the face guard, the ear loop provided by a piece of fabric including a first surface and an opposing second surface, the piece of fabric having a shape defined by an elongated narrow center portion positioned between an enlarged first end and an enlarged second end opposite the first end, wherein the enlarged first end is connected to an upper portion of the lateral side of the protective panel with the first surface of the fabric facing outwardly at the enlarged first end, wherein the enlarged second end is connected to a lower portion of the lateral side of the protective panel with the second surface of the piece of fabric also facing outwardly at the enlarged second end, wherein the enlarged first end of the ear loop overlaps the enlarged second end of the ear loop along the lateral side of the of the face guard, wherein the enlarged first end of the ear loop extends from the upper perimeter of the protective panel toward the lower portion of the lateral side, and wherein the enlarged second end of the ear loop extends from the lower perimeter of the protective panel toward the upper portion of the lateral side.

A face mask configured to be worn on a human head, the face mask comprising:

• a face guard including a lateral side;
• and
• an ear loop connected to the lateral side of the face guard, the ear loop provided by a piece of stretch fabric including a first surface and an opposing second surface, the ear loop defining an elongated narrow center portion positioned between an enlarged first end and an enlarged second end opposite the first end, the enlarged first end connected to an upper portion of the lateral side of the face guard, the enlarged second end connected to a lower portion of the lateral side of the face guard, and the enlarged first end overlapping the enlarged second end along the lateral side of the face guard.
