Abstract
An improved, cleaner functioning smoking article is provided, comprising an aerosol forming substrate engineered to include airflow channels. Features include a hollow tube, which may be comprised of various materials, including the material for vaporization itself, within the engineered material, such as tobacco, for efficient vaporization. Other features include a hollow, inverted cone to permit air ingress in a closed bottomed HNB cigarette, and a capsule cigarette designed to retain loose leaf and original material for clean vaporization.
Claims8
An aerosol generating article comprising:
- a first porous element defining a first surface at a first end of the aerosol generating article;
- a second porous element defining a second surface at a second end of the aerosol generating article, the first end opposite the second end, an airflow path through the aerosol generating article extending from the first surface to the second surface in a first direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the aerosol generating article;
- an aerosol forming substrate portion between the first porous element and the second porous element, the aerosol forming substrate portion contacting the first porous element and the second porous element, the airflow path extending through the aerosol generating article;
- and
- a paper wrapper at least partially surrounding the first porous element, the second porous element, and the aerosol forming substrate portion, the paper wrapper contacting the first porous element, the second porous element, and the aerosol forming substrate portion.
