The disclosure provides, among other things, seeds and plants of Brassica rapa hybrids ‘E55B006’ and ‘E55B008’. The disclosure includes tissue cultures of Brassica rapa hybrids ‘E55B006’ and ‘E55B008’ and methods for producing a Brassica rapa plant that include crossing a Brassica rapa hybrid ‘E55B006’ plant or Brassica rapa hybrid ‘E55B008’ plant with itself or with another plant, such as a Brassica rapa plant of another genotype. The disclosure further includes seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The disclosure further includes plants, seeds, and tissue cultures of Brassica rapa hybrids ‘E55B006’ and ‘E55B008’ comprising introduced beneficial or desirable traits.
Claims19
A hybrid Brassica rapa seed selected from the group of consisting of:
- (a) a hybrid Brassica rapa seed designated as ‘E55B006’, representative sample of seed having been deposited under NCIMB Accession Number X1;
- and
- (b) a hybrid Brassica rapa seed designated as ‘E55B008’, representative sample of seed having been deposited under NCIMB Accession Number X2.
A method of vegetatively propagating a plant of hybrid Brassica rapa variety ‘E55B006’ or ‘E55B008’, the method comprising the steps of:
- (a) collecting tissue capable of being propagated from a plant of hybrid Brassica rapa variety ‘E55B006’ or ‘E55B008’, representative seed of said Brassica rapa variety having been deposited under NCIMB Accession Number X1 or X2;
- and
- (b) producing a Brassica rapa plant from said tissue.
A method of producing a seed of an ‘E55B006’-derived or an ‘E55B008’-derived Brassica rapa plant, comprising:
- (a) crossing a hybrid Brassica rapa designated as ‘E55B006’ or ‘E55B008’, representative sample of seed having been deposited under NCIMB Accession Number X1 or X2, with itself or a second Brassica rapa plant;
- whereby seed of an ‘E55B006’-derived or an ‘E55B008’-derived Brassica rapa plant forms.
