Abstract
An organic electroluminescent device comprises a first electrode, a second electrode, and an organic layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The organic layer comprises at least one charge-neutral metal-organic coordination compound, with the metal-organic coordination compound comprising at least one electrically negatively charged gallium compound of general formula (1-1): with A, and B independently being substituted or non-substituted heterocyclic rings, and broken lines indicating e.g. a chemical bond or linking group at any available position.
Claims15
An organic electroluminescent device comprising:
- a first electrode;
- a second electrode;
- and
- an organic layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode,
- wherein the organic layer comprises at least one charge-neutral metal-organic coordination compound, with the metal-organic coordination compound comprising at least one electrically negatively charged gallium compound of general formula (1-1):
- wherein R and R1 independently, in each instance, represent hydrogen, deuterium, or organyl groups,
- wherein broken lines between the rings A and B and between the ring B and an organyl fragment R1, and between the ring A and an organyl fragment R, and between two organyl fragments R and R1 indicate each independently either that those respective organyl fragments A, B, R and R1 are not connected at any position, or that those respective organyl fragments A, B, R and R1 are directly connected through a chemical bond at any available position of each, or that those respective organyl fragments A, B, R and R1 are connected via a linking group at any available position of each, and
- wherein A and B independently are substituted or non-substituted heterocyclic rings, preferably aromatic heterocycles which preferably comprise one or more nitrogen ring atoms.
A charge-neutral metal-organic coordination compound comprising at least one lanthanide cation with the at least one lanthanide cation being coordinated by at least one electrically negatively charged gallium compound of general formula (1-1) as ligand compound of general formula (1-1):
- wherein R and R1 independently in each instance represent hydrogen, deuterium, or organyl groups, and
- wherein broken lines between the rings A and B and between the ring B and an organyl fragment R1, and between the ring A and an organyl fragment R, and between two organyl fragments R and R1 indicate each independently either that those respective organyl fragments A, B, R and R1 are not connected at any position, or that those respective organyl fragments A, B, R and R1 are directly connected through a chemical bond at any available position of each, or that those respective organyl fragments A, B, R and R1 are connected via a linking group at any available position of each, and
- wherein A and B independently are substituted or non-substituted heterocyclic rings, preferably aromatic heterocycles which preferably comprise one or more nitrogen ring atoms.
