Abstract
Methods and systems for verifying completion of a repair. A server receives an intake image when property arrives at a repair facility, and a post-repair image after the repair is reported complete. The system compares the images to verify that the repair is completed. Payment authorization is prevented if damage remains present and payment is authorized if the repair is verified complete. The system may detect additional damage potentially caused by the repair facility and require manual review.
Claims20
A method for verifying property repair completion, comprising:
- receiving, by a virtual collaboration server, repair authorization data identifying property damage approved for a repair;
- receiving, by the virtual collaboration server and from a computing device associated with a repair facility, an intake image of property captured when the repair facility received the property for the repair;
- storing the intake image in association with the repair authorization data;
- after the repair facility has completed the repair, receiving, by the virtual collaboration server and from the computing device associated with the repair facility, a post-repair image of the property captured after completion of the repair;
- comparing, by the virtual collaboration server, the intake image with the post-repair image to identify differences between the intake image and the post-repair image;
- determining, by the virtual collaboration server and based on the comparing, whether damage identified in the repair authorization data is present in the post-repair image;
- responsive to determining that damage identified in the repair authorization data remains present in the post-repair image, preventing authorization of payment;
- and
- responsive to determining that damage identified in the repair authorization data is not present in the post-repair image, authorizing payment.
A system for verifying property repair completion, comprising:
- a virtual collaboration server comprising:
- one or more processors;
- a memory;
- and a network interface;
- wherein the memory stores:
- repair authorization data identifying property damage approved for repair, intake image data comprising image of property when receiving the property, post-repair image data comprising image of the property after completing the repair, and
- comparison logic configured to compare the intake image data with the post-repair image data to identify differences;
- wherein the virtual collaboration server is configured to:
- receive the repair authorization data;
- receive, from a computing device associated with a repair facility, the intake image;
- store the intake image in association with the repair authorization data;
- after the repair is completed, receive, from the computing device associated with the repair facility, the post-repair image;
- compare the intake image with the post-repair image using the comparison logic to identify differences;
- determine, based on the differences, whether damage identified in the repair authorization data is present in the post-repair image;
- responsive to determining that damage remains present, prevent authorization of payment;
- and
- responsive to determining that damage is not present, allow authorization of payment.
