Abstract
A computing device receives a call placed by a user of a virtual reality (VR) device, and determines a type of the call. The computing device receives sensor data indicative of a biophysical state of the user, and, based on the type of the call and the sensor data, determines: a particular virtual reality environment and a particular avatar for a call taker of the call. The computing device controls the VR device to provide the call using the particular virtual reality environment and the particular avatar.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a public safety answering point (PSAP) device, a call placed by a user of a virtual reality (VR) device;
- determining, by the PSAP device, a type of the call;
- receiving, by the PSAP device, sensor data indicative of a biophysical state of the user;
- based on the type of the call and the sensor data, determining, by the PSAP device:
- a particular virtual reality environment and a particular avatar for a call taker of the call;
- and
- controlling, by the PSAP device, the VR device to provide the call using the particular virtual reality environment and the particular avatar.
A computing device comprising:
- a controller;
- and
- a computer-readable storage medium having stored thereon program instructions that, when executed by the controller, causes the controller to perform a set of operations comprising:
- receiving a call placed by a user of a virtual reality (VR) device;
- determining a type of the call;
- receiving sensor data indicative of a biophysical state of the user;
- based on the type of the call and the sensor data, determining:
- a particular virtual reality environment and a particular avatar for a call taker of the call;
- and
- controlling the VR device to provide the call using the particular virtual reality environment and the particular avatar.
