Discovery of and Connection to Remote Devices

A non-transitory computer-readable storage device including program instructions executable by one or more processors that, when executed, cause the one or more processors to perform operations, the operations comprising:

• identifying a first control device and a controlled device in images of a location, wherein the first control device is configured to change an operating state of the controlled device;
• identifying a second control device;
• configuring a relationship between the second control device and the controlled device;
• providing pairing information for the second control device to a host device;
• replacing the first control device with the second control device such that the second control device is configured to change the operating state of the controlled device;
• and
• pairing the second control device with the host device using the pairing information.

A system, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• one or more processors that are configured to execute instructions that are stored in the memory, wherein the instructions, when executed, cause the one or more processors to:
• identify a first control device and a controlled device in images of a location, wherein the first control device is configured to change an operating state of the controlled device,
• identify a second control device,
• configure a relationship between the second control device and the controlled device,
• provide pairing information for the second control device to a host device,
• replace the first control device with the second control device such that the second control device is configured to change the operating state of the controlled device, and
• pair the second control device with the host device using the pairing information.
