Abstract
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to generating and displaying a score related to the results of wagering by a player on an electronic gaming machine. In one embodiment, a method for generating a score related to play on at least one electronic gaming device includes tracking the amount wagered on the gaming device, tracking the amount awarded by the gaming device, and generating a score related to the tracked amounts.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- determining, based on a paytable stored in a memory of an electronic gaming device, a theoretical hold for the electronic gaming device;
- displaying, via a display of the electronic gaming device, a plurality of prior performance metrics corresponding to one or more prior gaming sessions associated with the electronic gaming device;
- receiving, via a user interface of the electronic gaming device, one or more inputs corresponding to a gaming session;
- generating, by the electronic gaming device and based on the one or more inputs, one or more results;
- determining, based on the one or more inputs to the electronic gaming device and the one or more results generated by the electronic gaming device, an actual hold associated with the electronic gaming device;
- comparing, the actual hold to the theoretical hold;
- determining, based on comparing the actual hold to the theoretical hold, one or more performance metrics associated with the gaming session;
- comparing the one or more performance metrics to the plurality of prior performance metrics;
- and
- based on the comparison of the one or more performance metrics to the plurality of prior performance metrics, automatically rearranging the display of the electronic gaming device to include the one or more performance metrics.

A gaming device comprising:
- a user interface configured to receive one or more inputs;
- an electronic leader board having a display for displaying a plurality of prior performance metrics corresponding to one or more user identifiers;
- one or more processors;
- and
- a memory storing processor-executable instructions, which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the gaming device to:
- determine, based on a paytable stored in the memory, a theoretical hold for the gaming device;
- receive, via the user interface, one or more inputs corresponding to a gaming session;
- generate, based on the one or more inputs, one or more results;
- determine, based on the one or more inputs and the one or more results, an actual hold associated with the gaming device;
- compare, the actual hold to the theoretical hold;
- determine, based on the comparison of the actual hold to the theoretical hold, one or more performance metrics associated with the gaming session;
- compare the one or more performance metrics to the plurality of prior performance metrics;
- and
- based on the comparison of the one or more performance metrics to the plurality of prior performance metrics, automatically rearrange the display to include the one or more performance metrics.

- a plurality of gaming devices, each gaming device of the plurality of gaming devices configured to:
- determine, based on a paytable stored in a memory of the gaming device, a theoretical hold for the gaming device;
- receive, via a user interface of the gaming device, one or more inputs corresponding to a gaming session;
- generate, based on the one or more inputs, one or more results;
- determine, based on the one or more inputs and the one or more results, an actual hold associated with the gaming device;
- compare, the actual hold to the theoretical hold;
- determine, based on the comparison of the actual hold to the theoretical hold, one or more performance metrics associated with the gaming session;
- and
- an electronic leader board configured to:
- receive, from each gaming device of the plurality of gaming devices, the one or more performance metrics;
- compare the one or more performance metrics of each gaming device to a plurality of prior performance metrics from the plurality of gaming devices;
- and
- based on the comparison of the one or more performance metrics to the plurality of prior performance metrics, automatically rearrange a display of the gaming device to include the one or more performance metrics of each gaming device of the plurality of gaming devices.
