Configurable docking device for electronic device systems

Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an electronic device system. The electronic device system may include an electronic device and a docking device for releasably securing the electronic device to the docking device. The docking device may be operable in at least two coupling modes. The docking device may comprise a latch movable between a first latch configuration corresponding to a first coupling mode and a second latch configuration corresponding to a second coupling mode. The latch and the head portion may be spaced apart when the docking device is in the first coupling mode. The latch may engage the head portion when the docking device is in the second coupling mode. A switch assembly may be coupled to the latch. The latch may be configured for being moved between the first latch configuration and the second latch configuration via operation of the switch assembly.
