Abstract
A photodetector (distance measurement apparatus) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: an optical circuit that is provided in a substrate (first substrate) containing silicon and includes a waveguide that is able to transmit an optical signal from a light source; an antenna that is provided in the substrate and is able to output the optical signal transmitted via the waveguide; a light-receiving element that is provided in the substrate and is able to receive the optical signal reflected by an object; and a light-blocking section that is provided around at least one of the antenna or the light-receiving element.
Claims19
A photodetector comprising:
- an optical circuit provided in a substrate containing silicon, the optical circuit including a waveguide configured to transmit an optical signal from a light source;
- an antenna provided in the substrate and being configured to output the optical signal transmitted via the waveguide;
- a light-receiving element provided in the substrate and being configured to receive the optical signal reflected by an object;
- and
- a light-blocking section provided around at least one of the antenna or the light-receiving element.
A photodetection system comprising:
- a light source configured to generate an optical signal;
- an optical circuit provided in a substrate containing silicon, the optical circuit including a waveguide configured to transmit the optical signal from the light source;
- an antenna provided in the substrate and being configured to output the optical signal transmitted via the waveguide;
- a light-receiving element provided in the substrate and being configured to receive the optical signal reflected by an object;
- and
- a light-blocking section provided around at least one of the antenna or the light-receiving element.
