Abstract

A device for optical gas analysis is provided, the device comprising: a gas cell for a measurement gas; a light source adapted to emit light into the gas cell; a light detector adapted to receive the light after passing through the measurement gas in the gas cell; wherein the light source comprises an emitter, a first optical element and a second optical element; wherein the first optical element is a micro-lens mounted directly over an aperture of the emitter and adapted to reduce a divergence angle of light emitted by the emitter to provide pre-collimated light; wherein the second optical element is adapted to receive the pre-collimated light from the micro-lens and to shape a light beam for emission into the gas cell, wherein a ratio of the focal length f2 of the second optical element to a focal length f1 of the first optical element, f2/f1, is at least 20. Further, a corresponding system and method for optical gas analysis are provided.
