Systems and method for controlling window treatments

A system, comprising:

• a window treatment mounted in a window frame, the window treatment having a motor for moving the window treatment within the window frame;
• a controller coupled to the motor;
• and
• a memory having stored thereon instructions, wherein the instructions, when executed by the controller, cause the controller to:
• determine, when the window treatment is moved through a predetermined position within the window frame towards a surface of a window frame, whether a distance between a surface of the window treatment at the predetermined position and a surface of the window frame is less than a previously measured distance between the surface of the window treatment at the predetermined position and the surface of the window frame;
• and
• in response to the distance between the surface of the window treatment at the predetermined position and the surface of the window frame being determined to be less than the previously measured distance, control the motor to cause any further movement of the window treatment to be stopped.
