Claims20
A method of administering a therapeutic composition to a subject having an upper respiratory tract,
- wherein the therapeutic composition comprises at least one particle and at least one antibody structure comprising an antibody or antibody fragment that specifically binds to a foreign substance, wherein the at least one particle has an aerodynamic diameter of greater than 20 μm and less than 200 μm and has an outer surface having a plurality of said at least one antibody structures attached to, connected to, adsorbed onto or embedded into the outer surface and the therapeutic composition comprises a plurality of the at least one particle,
- wherein the method comprises administering the therapeutic composition to the subject nasally, orally or both nasally and orally and wherein substantially all of the plurality of the at least one particle deposit in the upper respiratory tract of the subject.
A method of administering a therapeutic composition to a subject having an upper respiratory tract,
- wherein the therapeutic composition comprises a plurality of particles dispersed in a liquid, wherein each of the plurality of particles has a surface having a plurality of antibody structures attached to, connected to, adsorbed onto or embedded into the surface, wherein each of the plurality of antibody structures comprises at least one antibody or antibody fragment that specifically binds to a foreign substance and wherein each of the plurality of particles has an aerodynamic diameter of greater than 20 μm and less than 200 μm,
- wherein the method comprises administering the therapeutic composition to the subject orally, nasally or combinations thereof and wherein substantially all of the particles when administered deposit in the upper respiratory tract and do not pass to a lower respiratory area of the subject.
A method of administering a therapeutic composition to a subject having an upper respiratory tract,
- wherein the therapeutic composition comprises a plurality of particles dispersed in a liquid, wherein each of the plurality of particles has a surface having a plurality of antibody structures attached to, connected to, adsorbed onto or embedded into the surface, wherein each of the plurality of antibody structures comprises at least one antibody or antibody fragment that specifically binds to a foreign substance and wherein each of the plurality of particles has an aerodynamic diameter of greater than 20 μm and less than 200 μm and wherein the therapeutic composition further comprises at least two of the following components:
- (i) at least one dispersant, (ii) at least one numbing agent, sneeze suppressant agent, or combinations thereof;
- (iii) at least one flavorant;
- and (iv) at least one antimicrobial agent,
- wherein the method comprises administering the therapeutic composition to the subject orally, nasally or combinations thereof and wherein at least 90% by mass of the plurality of the particles deposit in the upper respiratory tract.
