Abstract

An industrial vehicle includes: a vehicle body; a detector configured to detect an obstacle present around the vehicle body; and a controller configured to restrict the industrial vehicle from starting to move when the obstacle detected by the detector is present in a start restriction area. The detector includes: a front side detector configured to detect the obstacle in front of the vehicle body; a rear side detector configured to detect the obstacle present behind the vehicle body; a left side detector configured to detect the obstacle present on the left side of the vehicle body; and a right side detector configured to detect the obstacle present on the right side of the vehicle body. The controller changes the start restriction area based on a traveling direction and a steering angle of the industrial vehicle.
