Abstract
A side door for a motor vehicle has coupling means configured to couple the side door to a door frame at an access opening to provide side access to a passenger compartment, such that the side door is movable between open and closed positions to expose and close the access opening, respectively. The door includes a structural body arranged to face the passenger compartment in the closed position, and a covering sheet fixed to the structural body to cover it externally. The covering sheet forms a slot configured to define a first longitudinal duct for channeling aerodynamic flow.
Claims16
A side door for a motor vehicle having a longitudinal advancing direction, the side door comprising:
- coupling means configured to couple the side door to a door frame of the motor vehicle at an access opening defined by the door frame to provide side access to a passenger compartment of the motor vehicle, such that the side door is movable between an open position and a closed position to expose and close the access opening, respectively;
- a structural body arranged to face towards the passenger compartment in the closed position of the side door;
- and
- a covering sheet fixed to the structural body to cover the structural body externally, wherein the covering sheet forms a slot configured to define a first longitudinal duct, in particular for an aerodynamic flow generated by an advance of the motor vehicle.
