A system for evaluating player performance comprises at least one sensor for capturing images of a player performing a sporting activity, such as performing a basketball shot. At least one processor is configured to analyze the images to determine a position of an object launched by the player and, based on the determined position, calculate a first value indicative of a performance of the player. The processor is further configured to identify a region from which the basketball was launched by the player. The processor is further configured to calculate, based on whether an outcome of the launch is successful, a second value indicating a performance of the player in performing a plurality of object launches from the identified region. An output mechanism is configured to display launch performance information associated with the player based on the first value and the second value.
